Wasn't it bad enough your Monday started out feeling like this? Now it's barely Tuesday and work is driving you nuts:
The fax machine got jammed again and this time you can't fix it...
The printer is out of ink & you just changed the cartridge last week!!! (what the hell?)...
You have a back-log of 20 phone calls to return and a client meeting at 4:00pm you still need to prep for...
Your assistant sent New Client Docs to the wrong client!...
Your boss wants you to edit that report you submitted; for the 3rd time! (It's never good enough)...
Some genius put decaf in the coffee pot labeled "Regular"...
You had a deadline to meet by end-of-business yesterday and NOW they're replying to your "confirmation request e-mail" saying they never received anything (you're screwed)...
In short, life seems to kinda suck right now!
What do you do? How do you fix it? By focusing on the solution, not the problem! [Sage advice by my good friend, Patch Adams]
And if that doesn't work (or it's "too deep"), you could always just take a few of these.
_______________
So how 'bout it? What's stressing you out today? What are you going to do about it?

Thank you for the smile... much appreciated. :)

@Vered: my pleasure! I thought I'd add a little fun to the mix of posts...

You jumped in to defend me, and you made me laugh all in one day. That makes you some sort of hero or something *wink*
But to seriously answer you question...I was stressed because the housework was piling up. What did I do about it? Wouldn't let the Lion go play in computer land until he helped me get it all done. *grin*

Hi Ricardo,
I love the statement in your header. Also, this post clearly shows how important it is to keep a positive mind set, even if things go wrong. You made it nicely clear with your words.

Hi Ricardo - LMAO at those pills. Any stresses I had just disappeared.

Well, I'm reading this at almost 9pm, so my day is nearly done. :-) Today it stressed me that I got a late start, and was behind on my work. But I tried to focus on a solution, and instead tackled some little tasks that needed doing...and wound up accomplishing something, and relaxed at the same time. :-)

Get ready... can you hear violins playing? Ok, let's see... what's stressing me out? Hmmm...
Laidoff. I haven't worked in over a year; started a business in Jaunary that has made me about 200 bucks! In a self-employment program sponsored by the Gov't that won't allow me to take a part-time job. It pays enough to cover my rent and a few bills.
Not that I don't appreciate this much... but it's still a stretch. Starting to live off my retirement savings now. Again, I appreciate that they are there.
Once this program is finished in 6 weeks I will be looking for a part-time job to stay afloat.
At least I have my health and a sense of humour! And some friends to talk to. It's not all bad. And thank God for Rolo cones!
BTW, I've seen that joke before -- it's a good one! A good laugh is priceless! Thanks.

@Urban Panther: I know, I know...I'm the greatest! LOL :-) Well thanks for the compliment! If I was gonna be a superhero I don't know what Ribeezie would look like...
I bet the Lion said something to the effect of: "leave me alone. I'm blogging!" Didn't he?
Well I hope you got some of it done and had the rest of the evening to relax. Nothing like a nice clean workspace to make you feel at ease..
@Monika: Glad you loved the quote! Makes me feel better about what I'm trying to share here...
What I wanted to convey today, in a bit of a humorous tone, is that focusing on the problem doesn't solve anything. We gotta look past the problem(s), towards the solution. And if all else fails, take a pill or two :-)
Thanks for visiting Monika! Hope to see you again...
@Cath: LOL. Just what the doctor ordered huh? Glad you got a good laugh out of it...I know I did!
@mousewords: Re: "Well, I'm reading this at almost 9pm, so my day is nearly done." Hey, better late than never!
I know what it's like to get a late start; I had one of those just the other day. But there's nothing like the sense of accomplishment derived when you manage to get at least a "few" things done. Right?

@Davina: Re: "A good laugh is priceless!"
Well... "In the American Journal of Medicine it is found that laughter increases secretion of catecholamines and endorphins which in turn increases oxygenation of the blood, relaxes the arteries, speeds up the heart, decreases blood pressure. Which has a positive effect on all cardiovascular and respiratory ailments as well as overall increasing the immune system response." -- Robin Williams in Patch Adams :-)
So you see, you certainly have your health, great friends here in the blog-o-sphere (and in life) and if that joke made you laugh, you certainly have a sense of humor! Everything will be "A-OK"...

Hi again Ricardo. I enjoyed watching Patch Adams and I believe in the power of laughter. Guess the best things in life are free huh? Thanks for your support.

I am very familiar with the prescription Fukitol. I take two every morning.

@Davina: You're welcome! :-p
@Meleah: LOL! I thought you were off the prescription medication missy?
