When I returned from this year's 2008 Blogworld Expo., I mentioned that I wanted to do some more multi-media stuff here around the site (video, podcasts, etc.). I'm lining up some good interviews for the podcasts moving into 2009 (you can stay updated on those via the newsletter) but need to catch up on the video posts (I still need to improve on editing too). Nevertheless, here is a compilation of some of the interviews that I recorded with some top bloggers while at the conference. Their collective knowledge is relevant and empowering and their content is definitely worth reading! (Go subscribe to their blogs and follow them on twitter if you're not already).
"Thank you all for taking the time to share your words and insights, both on- and off-camera!"
[Note: the video is approximately 10min. and 23sec.; much longer than I normally like and would recommend. Nevertheless, I hope that you'll take the time to view it and enjoy! I promise to keep it down to a 2-3 minute maximum next time.]

Did you like it? Give it a stumble...
Yes it was long but well worth the time! great advise in a combo vid! I love "little bloggers grow up"
I would add that one should develop a blog plan & write it down.
I loved not to build to quick. I am one that believes in something built slowly is easier to manage & control. Just me and once again great job.

@Nannette: Yea I like that line too... So true isn't it?! It's kinda cool to think back to those 1st milestones (the first comment, the first subscriber, the 100th blog post and all the other good stuff).
Blogging works. Social Media works. When it fails, it's because people don't find a way to tie it all together (there's a lack of planning). You need some form of strategy to get it to work. So I agree, develop a plan, write it down, then execute. And don't take big jumps (I think Chris Brogan said that).
Thanks Nannette! (I'll keep the next one short. But I'm glad you enjoyed it).

Good stuff, Ricardo. :) Thanks for the question! It was great to meet you. Look forward to hanging out in the future. (SXSW?!?!)

@Patrick: would love to make it out to SxSw! (But as of right this moment, not looking good). Still, I might make it out...
Thanks again Patrick!

Very cool Ricardo! There really is some great advice in there, from everyone! I'm leaving here today, thinking about ways I can step up what I'm doing - and that's all good!

I enjoyed your interviews, well done.
Love the background music at the end.

@Lance: hope you enjoyed the video! (Longer than I would've liked, but I really thought there were some good nuggets of info. in there). I know that you're making all the right moves with everything that you're working on!
@Bamboo Forest: Hey there! Thanks for the positive feedback (and the stumble)! Glad you enjoyed the video and the music (Blink 182 is one of my all-time favorite bands).

Ricardo
Wow bro, I wish I could have made it out there. I was so close to flying out but school took priority- maybe next time. Jason Falls, never heard of him- love what he says about being active and simply reaching out to others without coming off like a psycho.
Yeah, Darren is right on. I think New bloggers become distracted because they want mass numbers to pour in. During this time, they miss out on opportunities to connect with their loyal readers, which certainly has benefits like Darren explained. Elevating a readers' comment, that's where it at- what a way to share their voices and to show value for their feedback. :) Some folks struggle wit dropping their pride so others may be lifted up.
Liz came off like a genuine and concerned person. She seemed like she was in reflection mode. Simple but powerful advice. Hey man, you got yourself some amazing gold nuggets here.
Chris seems like a neat guy. As far as guest posting, only those I trust. Ricardo, I trust you my friend. You would think people might know better than to repeatably plug their own work on another blog. Wow, a perfect example of a solid useful post that adds value. :) Cheers!

@Miguel: sorry you couldn't make it out. Then again, there's always next year! :-) I knew some didn't get to make it out so I hoped to bring some of the conference back via this post. If it's helpful, well..that's what I was going for!
Each of the individuals who you see in the video are some of the most insightful and giving individuals on the web today! And you should definitely read Jason Falls stuff...he offers EXCELLENT advice and delivers it with authority! (Heck, everyone one of them offers excellent advice!)
Thanks for taking the time to watch the video Miguel and offer your thoughts! I'm glad you enjoyed it! And hey, maybe next year :-)
